Craving for Sweets and Starchy Foods May Indicate Pre-Diabetes

Does craving for sweets and starchy foods indicate diabetes?

The answer is not really. However, it can indicate the stage of pre-diabetes. Having cravings for sweets and starchy food shows that there is something not quite balanced with regard to processing complex carbohydrates or storing complex sugars in the muscles and in the liver and it usually indicates that the liver functions are subdued due to bile duct congestion with intra-hepatic gallstones where the bile is not properly released in order to digest foods such as fats that are required to digest carbohydrates so for example, if you eat some rice and you put some butter on it or olive oil and there is not enough bile coming out then the fat is not digested and, without the fat the carbohydrates cannot be digested, and these carbohydrates or complex sugars cannot be broken down in to the glucose that you need in order to fire or nourish or activate the activities or perform the activities in the cells. So as a result, there is a shortage of glucose on a cellular level and the cells will signal to your brain that “Hey, you need to give me more glucose”, so the brain interprets that, or you rather interprets that as “Oh, I need some sweet carbohydrates’, something that can replenish that lack of sugar on a cellular level. So having cravings like that just indicates there is a metabolic issue that your liver is not performing as well because of not producing enough bile to make the digestion of fats more efficient. This, however, can lead to a buildup also of sugars in the blood stream that are not removed, so the more sugar that you eat, the less actually you can make available to the cells, so overeating can also lead to this self-fulfilling prophecy of becoming over-sugared or too sweet which is another way of saying ‘diabetes’.

So, diabetes is… it is not really a disease, but it is a corrective mechanism that the body protects itself against an overload of sugar that could also lead to excessive production of insulin, and insulin when it gets close to the cells can cause inflammation of the cells, so, you do not want to be overexposed to insulin. So in order to reduce that, the body will… the cells in the body will start closing the doors to insulin and that shutting off of the insulin will also prevent the insulin transporting sugar into the cells, and as a result there will be cravings for sugar and for glucose or sugar and that will lead to wanting to eat more of the same. So, diabetes itself, definitely, can lead to the sugar cravings but it is often more than the other way around that, the sugar cravings indicate that there is a lack of sugar uptake, either because the body is protecting itself against insulin or simply because you have been overeating the sugar which can lead to more sugar deprivation, and sugar itself if you eat too much of it can definitely lead to bile duct congestion which in turn prevents the proper digestion of fats and without the fats being digested properly you cannot digest carbohydrates properly and that in itself can again lead to sugar deficiency on a cellular level.

So one way or another the best way to stop this vicious cycle is to clean out the liver and make changes to the diet such as introducing more healthy foods to it that are indicated in “TIMELESS SECRETS OF HEALTH AND REJUVENATION“. Eating foods that are suitable for your particular body type, and you can find out what body type you are from reading this book and that will help you give your body more of what it really wants, and as a result, cravings will lessen because the body will be satisfied on a cellular level with what it receives and it therefore does not have to crave other things. Sometimes when people say “I have a sweet tooth, that is just me!!”, that is not really true, I have helped many, many people who had a sweet tooth for twenty years and then from one day to the next by making some subtle changes to the diet or by cleaning out the liver they have had no cravings whatsoever ever again.

So I hope this becomes helpful to you and I wish you a very sweet, happy day.

Processing Meat Requires a Huge Insulin Response, More Than Eating Half a Pound of Sugar!

Processing meat requires a huge insulin response, more than eating half a pound of sugar!

Hi, this is with regards to diabetes and meat consumption or animal protein consumption and I have stated in my diabetes book “DIABETES  NO MORE” about how the human body, while processing meat, will require a huge insulin response which is much, much bigger than in response to eating half a pound of sugar.

And this can be, to many people, very surprising and I want to explain that in greater detail because it is something that has not been very much understood by lay people and also by medical professionals. However we know that there is a lot of scientific research now that clearly shows that when we eat meat on a regular basis, the risk of developing diabetes is shooting up dramatically. In fact there is a more recent study done by the National Institute of Cancer which has shown that regular meat eating increases the risk of dying by twenty percent among people who regularly consume meat and that is from all causes including cancer, heart disease and diabetes; so yes, meat eating can contribute to increased rates of diabetes. I have always talked about how meat eating directly leads to diabetes and in my books I have mentioned that, and I want to be very careful the way I say that, that is why I am going to read a passage taken from my book.

“If you eat concentrated protein food such as meat or chicken, your body requires much insulin to synthesize proteins from the amino acids derived from these foods. According to research, the stimulation of protein synthesis is a classic action of insulin. Loss of the stimulatory effect of insulin on protein synthesis would reduce growth and result in weight loss, which are hallmarks of diabetes. To make certain that the amino acids derived from the protein meal are synthesized into proteins, the pancreas has to secrete insulin. In other words, the more protein you eat, the more insulin your body needs to make, thus increasing the chances of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Accordingly, eating a normal sized steak forces your pancreas to secrete more insulin than it would need to produce in response to eating twelve times the amount of sugar contained in one can of soda. In addition to that if you also eat potatoes, a sweet dessert and drink a soda along with your meal like most Americans do, you can expect to further increase the insulin resistance. Currently diabetes is the fastest growing epidemic in America and it is easy to see why. The effect of insulin on protein metabolism is complex and it involves changes in both the synthesis and degradation of proteins. If protein intake is excessive, insulin secretions increase to help with its degradation. Protein synthesis and the control of carbohydrate and fat metabolism have now been linked in unexpected ways and many of the same  signaling systems utilized by insulin to control glucose metabolism for example have been found to be involved in a control of protein synthesis as well. The bottom line is that excessive intake of protein is a direct cause of insulin resistance and may lead to the onset of type 2 diabetes.”

This is very important and my own experience with diabetics around the world is that by having them discontinue eating animal proteins, and that includes chicken, fish, eggs, regular meat and cheese and milk particularly, they had reversed their diabetes within a matter of six to eight weeks. So it really shows that the insulin spiking occurrence that happens after eating meat, not directly, immediately, it is not that the insulin, the blood sugar will go up after eating protein but the long-term metabolic effect of insulin requirement is going up so dramatically that eventually the body will shut, or the cells in the body will shut the doors to insulin, the cells will no longer allow insulin to transport sugar to the cells which can cause the side effects often noticed with diabetes such as blindness and loss of functions, loss of limbs, amputations that result from that.

So, I highly recommend that to take this information very seriously if you are diabetic or suffer from pre-diabetes to be very cautious about overindulging in animal protein products so that you can reduce the amount of insulin required to process these proteins that synthesize amino acids from the ingested proteins.

Thank you.

Dealing with Frequent Urination and Prostate Issues

Dealing with frequent urination and prostate issues

Hi, this is a question from a person in Ireland who wishes help his / her friend who is seventy-four years old, he is suffering from diabetes, is on medication and he has constant back pain, difficulties with bending, quite frequent urination that also prevents him from longer trips. He likes travelling but he is restricted in doing so. He has a diet that is typical for an average person – very, very high in dairy products, yogurt, milk, red meat, potatoes – typical diet of an Irish farmer and he may not be able to or have the energy or the enthusiasm to make changes to his diet.

Unfortunately that is going to be very difficult because diet has a lot to do with how the kidneys and the prostate work, for example, we know that a diet high in dairy products is responsible for many prostate issues and to help elevate the situation, I strongly recommend to desist eating any dairy products except unsalted butter to small amounts, because the dairy proteins, and particularly the lactose in the protein, can lead to major constrictive occurrences in the prostate and also in the kidneys.

Much of the lower back pain is actually caused by crystals, stones leaving the kidneys and passing through the ureters and particularly in the area where the ureters converge and combine, that is where the lower back pain occurs, and the reason for that is these crystals have very, very sharp edges to them and they are like… very, very sharp surfaces that cut into the ureter lining just like knives or razor blades would cut into it and that can cause an enormous amount of pain, dull pain and sharp pain which restricts the moving ability of that part of the body so bending would definitely become an issue.

But also, these crystals enter the bladder, the urinary bladder, and because of the urinary difficulties there will be retention of urine which will start backwashing into the prostate gland and the prostrate will accumulate those crystals and embed them in the tissues which can cause an enlargement of the prostate and lead to further urinary, frequent urination problems. So, I would suggest that that if he really is serious about improving his quality of life, that he does make changes to his lifelong dietary habits and perhaps make some lifestyle changes which I have discussed in my book “TIMELESS SECRETS OF HEALTH AND REJUVENATION

The bottom line is how much does he love and accept himself, how much does he value himself and his health, over some dietary habits that he may have become so used to, that it may be difficult to give up, but it will be in his best interest to at least give himself the opportunity to improve the condition, because it is not fun to be so limited in your lifestyle that it will actually deprive the person of even more of joy than having the pleasure of eating some of the things, some yogurt or cheese or red meat which otherwise can create many, many problems to the kidneys, to the digestive system, to the rest of the body.

Diabetes, by the way, can easily be caused by eating animal proteins and dairy products. So the amount of protein that is contained in meat is fairly concentrated, is fairly high, and in order to synthesis the amino acids that are broken down through during the digestive process from eating those foods will require an enormous amount of insulin and so many of the people that are suffering from diabetes now actually do not have diabetes because they have eaten too much sugar or starch foods, but, they are mostly diabetic because their body is forced to produce an enormous amount of insulin in response to eating concentrated protein foods such as dairy food or meat and once again, to synthesize the amino acids that are generated, when you digest meat for example, requires up to ten or sometimes twenty times the amount of insulin that would be required for eating a couple of tablespoons of, or even more, of white sugar.

So there is just no comparison, that is why there is a new study, a fairy new study that came out and was released by the National Institute of Cancer, studying five hundred fifty thousand Americans and they discovered that eating meat on a regular basis increased the risk of dying in these individuals, to the amount of twenty percent, that means, that the chance of dying increasing will also mean that the risk of developing other diseases will be the higher just as much or even more so. And the risk from dying from diabetes is very, very high when you eat meat according to the study.

So once again, you do not have… a person does not have to continue having diabetes and being on medication which has side effects of course, but that diabetes is reversible and so is urinary tract congestion, kidney congestion. I would make sure to drink the kidney tea so that these crystals are broken down and they do not accumulate in the bladder area, in the bladder walls, where they can backwash into the prostate gland, and also making sure that not any new crystals like uric acid are formed from overeating products like meat. Having said that, I wish that this beautiful, wonderful gentleman will recover from this ordeal and taking self responsibilities is one if the best and first steps to recovery.

Having a good life and making sure that during the summer period he is exposing his skin, his entire body to the sun, to at least get some amount of vitamin D generated in his body which will also be incredibly helpful for prostate issues as we now know. Prostate issues respond very, very well to increased amounts of vitamin D in the blood stream and in the tissues of course, and so this would be very beneficial for recovering from the prostate conditions.

Thank you.

Disorders of the Pancreas

By Andreas Moritz

The pancreas is a small gland with its ‘head’ lying in the curve of the duodenum. Its main duct joins the common bile duct (of the liver and gallbladder) to form what is known as the ampulla of the bile duct. The ampulla enters the duodenum at its midpoint. Apart from secreting the hormones, insulin and glucagon, the pancreas produces pancreatic juice containing enzymes that digest carbohydrates, proteins and fats. When acid stomach contents enter the duodenum, they are mixed with pancreatic juice and bile. This creates the proper acid/alkali balance (pH value) at which the pancreatic enzymes are most effective (both bile and pancreatic juice are alkaline).

Gallstones in the liver or gallbladder cut down bile secretion from the normal amount of about one quart per day, to as little as one cup per day. This severely disrupts the digestive process, particularly if fats or fat-containing foods are consumed. Subsequently, the pH remains too low, which inhibits the action of pancreatic enzymes, as well as those secreted by the small intestine. The end result is that food is only partially digested. Improperly digested food that is saturated with the stomach’s hydrochloric acid can have a very irritating, toxic effect on the entire intestinal tract.

If a gallstone has moved from the gallbladder into the ampulla, where the common bile duct and the pancreatic ducts meet (see Figure 1), the release of pancreatic juice becomes obstructed and bile moves into the pancreas. This causes protein-splitting pancreatic enzymes that are normally activated only in the duodenum to be activated while in the pancreas. These enzymes begin to digest parts of the pancreatic tissue, which can lead to infection, suppuration and local thrombosis. This condition is known as pancreatitis.

Gallstones obstructing the ampulla release bacteria, viruses and toxins into the pancreas, which can cause further damage to pancreatic cells, and eventually lead to malignant tumors. The tumors occur mostly in the head of the pancreas, where they inhibit the flow of bile and pancreatic juice. This condition is often accompanied by jaundice (for more details see ‘Disorders of the Liver‘).

Gallstones in the liver, gallbladder and ampulla may also be responsible for both types of diabetes – insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent. All clients of mine with diagnosed diabetes, including children, have had large quantities of stones in their liver. Each liver cleanse further improved their condition, provided they followed a healthy regimen and diet void of animal products (also see The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush – ‘Excessive Protein Consumption’ in Chapter 3).

Healing the Pancreas

Healing the Pancreas

This is a question on the pancreas and the question goes; can you please tell us how to heal the pancreas?

Now, there are many illnesses related to a dysfunctional or weak pancreas, for example diabetes, but something that is rarely considered is that it is to a large degree due to impaired liver and gall bladder function. What happens very often is that when the liver bile ducts get congested and the gallbladder fills up with stones, there are stones and bile sludge moving into the common bile duct and from there up into the pancreatic duct. And this can inhibit the pancreas, secretion of pancreatic juices, or pancreatic enzymes, and that can lead to these pancreatic enzymes to build up in the pancreas in an inactivated form.  Typically, when the pancreatic duct is open, pancreatic enzymes move into the common bile duct where the pancreatic juices or enzymes combine with bile, and the bile is activating these digestive enzymes, so that when these two – the bile and the pancreatic enzymes – move into the small intestine, they can begin to digest the food that you have ingested.

Now when the pancreas or the pancreatic duct is congested with stones or sludge that has come from the bile ducts of the liver or from the gall bladder, then these inactivated enzymes would begin to destroy the pancreatic cells, particularly pancreatic islets and this can lead to the occurrence of insulin deficiency and also to diabetes and to progressive inflammation of the pancreas which is called pancreatitis.

So this destruction of the pancreas can be corrected or healed simply by making sure that the bile ducts in the liver and the gall bladder are clean, that they are cleaned out through a series of liver and gall bladder flushes so that in the future there is no clogging up of the pancreatic duct which can lead to the pancreatitis or slow unnoticeable or unnoticed destruction of the pancreas.

I definitely recommend liver and gall bladder flushes for any pancreas problems because there is just not much around to help the pancreas heal. And, if the pancreas is congested for a long time it leads to pancreatic cancer which is a little more difficult to treat than other kinds of cancers.

The other thing that with regards to the pancreas is very important is that we make changes to the diet and lifestyle because, the diet particularly has a great influence on the pancreas. For example, if a person drinks a lot of alcohol, we know that this can damage the pancreas again, beyond the liver and the other issue is eating lot of sugar, a lot of kids eat a lot of sugar, having soft drinks which can also destroy the pancreas. So it is important to consider a changing of the diet so that we do not create the same problem again and again.

Not just cleaning out the liver but also making the adjustments, setting the preconditions for the pancreas to heal itself.

I hope you find this helpful and wish you a wonderful and great day.
