Switching from Iodized Table Salts to Natural Salts

Can you please comment on the low iodine levels we are seeing in patients as they switch from iodized table salts to natural salts?

And, this is actually quite simple, since when a person gets overexposed to iodine which can be very toxic to the thyroid in particular we are creating a situation in our body that will try to get rid of this excessive iodine as much it can and so, the whole body is geared towards removing this toxin as much as possible and when a person in that instance stops eating iodized table salts because he does not want to poison himself continuously, then the body runs into a deficit of natural iodine. So the iodine deficiency which can lead to hypothyroidism is them a great risk. In that sense it would be useful to substitute iodized table salt with a natural iodine extract. I recommend detoxified iodine which you can find through out the internet and or use lugol’s iodine, a drop a day to make sure during the transition that the body still has something to play with, but, that is not toxic iodine, and so, in this way the thyroid will take up more of the iodine, not run into a deficit and therefore it can sustain normal metabolism which it is responsible for.

So once again use detoxified iodine as a transitory solution that eventually will not become necessary once the body recognizes it has a non toxic form of iodine it can take up and then the resistance to the iodine will diminish as we go along until the person is completely free of any extra need of iodine from a supplemental source. Having said that I also recommend a person during liver flushes, because iodine if comes from table salt, which is added to table salt, that toxin produces a lot of stones in the bile duct of the liver and by removing those stones it also helps to get the thyroid back to the normal state of balance. So to for changing the iodine into a detoxified form and then cleaning out the liver so that the person can restore normal iodine.
